Mission StatementRising Stars is an independent Drama School dedicated to the training of actors and actresses to meet the highest demands and best opportunities in Theatre, TV and Film. Classes are restricted to a maximum of 20 students with a minimum of 3 teachers present at any one time. What We DoRising Stars is focused on the training of actors and actresses through performance. Our unique combination of audition techniques, on Stage and Screen acting prepares your child/children for today's competitive media industry. We believe acting is a creative process with our main goal being to develop each students creative capability to its fullest. We aim to increase communication skills and confidence through improvisational exercises and character development. Rising Stars works towards freeing the actors/actresses imagination, voice and physicality. Your child will work with experienced tutors who will endeavour to nurture both the students confidence and creativity. They will learn to form and sustain a character in response to the demands of the text coupled with the directors interpretation . They will build their acting technique through a sustained rehearsal process and develop both the confidence and ability to perform in front of both an audience and camera. In this ever evolving profession our teachers are professionals in the business teaching for the business. Student of the MonthEach month we give a framed Student of the Month Certificate which the choosen student keeps. Lesson Commentary BooksEvery class we write a lesson commentary for each individual student so yourselves and the student can evaluate their strenghts and weaknesses. StaffAll our staff are trained professionals already working within the media business, we are vigorous with the safety of children and all staff are CRB checked. ExaminationsWe at Rising Stars believe paperwork examinations do not reflect a true life experience of what an actor/actress would have to face in everyday professional acting work. Instead we create events that are a real life likeness to what an actor/actress would be subjected to. ReportsAt Rising Stars we believe in monitoring each students strengths and weaknesses so we can gain an overall picture of what they need to work on and which areas they excel in. A report will be issued at the end of each term. Showcase & Coming EventsOnce a year 'Rising Stars' operates the Rising Stars Showcase And Awards Night. Your child/children will learn a 3 to 5 minute acting piece, individually they will perform and compete in front of a panel of judges and yourselves the audience. Trophies, Medals & Certificates to be won and kept. Trophies, Medals and CertificatesWe believe rewarding talent is essential. It presents your child with professional recognition of their abilities thus building confidence. In such a cut throat business having awards to show to agents, directors and casting directors are an invaluable asset. PricesFirst lesson payable on the day (£10.00) as a trial basis for your child/children. Lessons thereafter are payable per term at the beginning of each term to the amount of £230.00 payable by cash or cheque made payable to Rising Stars. Term will commence on your child's second lesson which will consist of 12 lessons. Terms And Conditions Of TradeFirst lesson payable on the day as a trial basis for your child/children. Once a member one months one months written notice must be given if the child/children will be leaving 'Rising Stars'. If notice is given and your child/children do not attend full monies for that month must be paid. Parent/Guardian must agree to all various teaching forms of acting for both Stage & Screen. Parent/Guardian must agree for child/children to be filmed on camera, (towards show reel purposes and other learning techniques). A consent form before such activity will be given out and will need to be signed. Parent/Guardian must agree for child/children to be considered for awards and if achieved to be allowed to accept and keep certificates, trophies, medals etc… 'Rising Stars' shall be entitled to alter, adapt or make addition to or deletions from all material filmed and agree to waiver unconditionally and irrevocably any provision of the law of 'Moral Rights' now in the future or any part of the world. No commission, fees or charges for any previous, current or future stage and screen works will be taken. I confirm that I am a British citizen ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom. I hereby undertake that I will not at any time issue or authorise any publicity or disclose any personal of confidential information relating to this engagement or any persons with connections to 'Rising Stars'. All breakages must be paid for and any materials supplied will remain the property of 'Rising Stars' and must be paid in full if item is not returned. Students must wear Jazz shoes as a compulsory part of the schools uniform. Comfortable black trousers and a white T-shirt will be adequate. However quality Embroidered Polo Shirts with the schools logo will be available to purchase. |
